Our
industry has come to a fork in the road…which way will it turn?
There was once a cliché in the
Business Center industry: "We run your office, so you can run
your business"? But in 2000 and 2001, much of our industry
stopped delivering on the promise to "run your office" for its
clients. What happened?
The dot.bomb economy collapse and the radical
price-cutting that came along right after caused many operators
(large and small) to cut staff to absolute minimums. Throughout
the next couple of years things didn’t exactly get easier and
"cut-backs" became a habit. The problem was that it changed the
way we started offering our services to our clients.
So, what do we do now we have arrived at this
"fork in the road" that I mentioned above?
In order to meet the needs of today’s client the
Business Center industry must decide whether we will focus our
business on our real estate and become a "managed office
provider" or focus our business on "running your office" and
remain a fully "serviced office provider".
At PS the choice is clear: "We will run your
office, so you can run your business!"
